Early life and education

Don Jazzy was born as Michael Collins Ajereh on November 26, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. He was the last of four children of his parents, who were both from Isoko in Delta State. He grew up in Ajegunle, a slum area in Lagos, where he was exposed to various genres of music, such as fuji, juju, highlife, and afrobeat. He developed a passion for music at an early age and started playing drums and piano at the age of four.
