He has produced and collaborated with some of the biggest names in Nigerian and African music, such as D’banj, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Burna Boy. Early life and education
Don Jazzy was born as Michael Collins Ajereh on November 26, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. He was the last of four children of his parents, who were both from Isoko in Delta State. He grew up in Ajegunle, a slum area in Lagos, where he was exposed to various genres of music, such as fuji, juju, highlife, and afrobeat. He developed a passion for music at an early age and started playing drums and piano at the age of four. He also sang in his church choir and learned how to play other instruments, such as guitar and bass.
He attended Federal Government College Lagos for his secondary education, where he was a member of the music club and the drama society. He graduated in 2000 and proceeded to study Business Management at Ambrose Alli University in Edo State. However, he dropped out of school in his first year to pursue his music career.
