“This is incorrect!” – Police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi responds to a video showing a cop helping a priest get into his car.

Olumuyiwa Adejobi, a spokesman for the Nigerian Police Force, responded to a video showing an officer opening the car door for a clergyman known as “Pastor Courage.”

An X user raised the event with the spokesman, questioning whether it was proper for a police officer to unlock a car door for a private citizen.

The X user shared a video of the event and wrote,

“Please tell me when it become common for a police officer to unlock a private citizen’s car door for them? Such behavior degrades the police department, sir.

In response to the tweet, the PRO first inquired as to the private citizen’s identify, claiming that certain people had a right to this kind of treatment.

“Who is the person?” he wrote. I must know before I can respond. Some people have a right to it based on their social standing, position, or rank. Who then is this individual? You have the information to help. Regards.

The X user replied by revealing the clergyman’s identity and revealing that he is based in Abuja.

He shared a picture of the minister along with the statement,

This is an up-and-coming pastorpreneur who sings on the internet under the name “Pastor Courage.”

He must have a lot of “tithes” in his purse to keep the police headquarters running.

He did not go to Abuja.

The cops said, “Should we assist them in their investigation?”

I’m not helpful.

PRO Muyiwa said that the policeman should not have opened the door for the preacher after noticing him. He added that an investigation would be conducted on the cop.

“If this is the man, it is inappropriate for a police officer to open the door for him,” he wrote. The police officers’ lack of professionalism, decency, and self-worth is evident. I will inquire and take appropriate action. Regards.
