Social media users’ reactions were mixed when a video of a man in Delta State getting married to two women on the same day went viral.
In Abraka, Delta state, the man and his wives celebrated a traditional marriage.
In the widely shared video, the groom is seen dancing elegantly with his brides while others applaud and celebrate with them. For the marriage, the wives dressed in a similar Aso-ebi fashion.
On the same day that the man customarily married the women together, a polygynistic marriage took place; one of the wives was observed appearing unhappy at the time.
Online users have responded to the video in a variety of ways. Some have suggested that the man belongs to a tribe, while others have said that this kind of marriage is inappropriate given the state of the economy.
