Funmi Awelewa was born on October 12, 1993, in Ayeye, a neighborhood in Ibadan, Oyo State. However, her ancestral home is Iwo Town, in Osun State, in the southwest region of Nigeria.

Funmi Awelewa completed her primary school education in 1999, having attended Francis M Nursery and Primary School in Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State, with great knowledge. then continued on to Orogun Grammar School in Akinyele, Oyo State, where she received her certificate of completion for the SSCE.
